"I will walk out of here sober"

I was referred to the Dame Carol Detox Centre through my GP for my alcohol addiction. My stay has been for 12 days and I can honestly say that this has been a turning point in my life. I have been alcohol dependent for over 20 years and realised that a complete lifestyle change was required. The staff here are truly fabulous with around the clock care, group therapy sessions, meditation, acupuncture, and always an ear to listen to worries and concerns. There are activities throughout the day to keep you busy and structured. They have made me realise that being an addict isn't the end of the road. I will walk out of here sober and my rehabilitation then starts. I could not have contemplated my onward journey without their help and am truly grateful.
