I was due for a knee replacement at NHS Forth Valley Hospital. On the morning I arrived my details were ready so there was no hold-up.
I was sat for 10 minutes when the doctor saw me and explained everything and got me to sign the relevant documents.
The doctor explained the surgery process and answered all my questions. Then I went to the anaesthetist where they prepared me for the operation. They were very nice and pleasant.
Surgery was done and took 1hour 40.
After surgery, I went to recovery and they too were very nice.
After 40mins I went to ward B12. I was made comfortable, given medication, and given tea and a meal. They were so cheerful and helpful.
They showed me how to use a frame so I could get to the toilet. The nurses emphasised the importance of doing the exercises they gave to me on a leaflet.
I was discharged and given all relevant pain relief. Yesterday the nurse came and changed my dressing, and she was quite pleased with how it looked.
The staff were so nice and helpful and the process was very quick.
