"I felt I was in safe, knowledgeable and experienced hands"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I was booked for a hysteroscopy with routine biopsy for complex hyperplasia at Treliske-and to be honest I was dreading it!

This procedure can be very painful and is always potentially undignified or embarrassing. But this appointment was the complete opposite.

From the first moment I felt I was in safe, knowledgeable and experienced hands. I received compassionate and reassuring care, being fully informed at every step and cared for throughout the process.

Mr Bishieri was obviously very expert and transmitted a sense of calm and sureness. He and the friendly and expert nurses made sure I was comfortable, relaxed and as near to pain free as possible (highly recommend the use of local anaesthetic, what a difference!)  at every point and the procedure was efficient and really very straightforward and like I say, almost pain free. They even saved me the hassle of getting a smear- which I was due- by doing that for me during the hysteroscopy as well.

All in all, I'll be happy to go back for the next one. Thank you so much, for your kindness and professionalism nurses Chris, Carol and Helena , and of course Mr Bashieri. You should be proud of your work!

Dear Janet627

Thank you so much for your post and the acknowledgement of the outstanding care you received at your recent hysteroscopy appointment.

I will ensure that the team are made aware of your lovely comments because we do put a great deal of importance on patient care, and work hard to achieve this, so receiving recognition from our patients makes a real difference.

There is no doubt that your post will also be valuable to potential patients who may well be anxious about their upcoming procedure and will reassure them.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Best wishes

Bridget

Hello, thank you for your feedback from your recent Hysteroscopy!

I am glad that you had a relatively pain free experience. This will be very reassuring for anyone else coming to visit our department.

I have passed this on to the rest of the team involved in your care, who work hard to support our patients.

I wish you a prompt recovery!

Thank you, Janet627, for taking the time to respond.

Feedback like this not only puts visitors at ease, but I can assure you the staff also benefit from your feedback.

The aim is always to make our patients feel safe. Understanding what is about to happen is a big part of any visit and I'm glad that your experience was not only that this happened, but that you actively felt the benefit of this

I will share your feedback with the wider team.
