I found out by chance that I had a 20cm cyst on one of my ovaries, after thinking I had appendicitis.
The care I received from FVRH was amazing. I was admitted due to uncontrollable pain and looked after by ward 6. All the staff simply went above any beyond. I was discharged with pain relief.
I had further complications and ended up at A&E with urinary retention, due to the size of my cyst. I was seen quickly and offered pain relief. Unfortunately I had to leave hospital with a catheter and I couldn’t function at home with my two children due to the pain, medication and now a catheter.
Waiting lists, as we know are long, and due to my complications I was in touch with consultants who replied within minutes and wanted to see me the next day after emailing them and after my pre op appointment.
From there, Dr Huda could see how much I was struggling and went above and beyond for me. I was admitted and placed on the list for emergency surgery (total hysterectomy- abdominal) the next day.
Dr Huda - I can’t thank you enough for all that you did and all the staff on ward 6. I was well looked after and everyone was so friendly and nothing was too much for them. They never stop. All the consultants I spoke to in the days following the operation were so lovely and gave me a sees to questions I had.
I am still recovering at home, just short of 3 weeks after the operation. Thank you all again. I have my life back after what’s been a rollercoaster month in my life and I honestly can’t fault the care I received at FVRH.
