I felt quite uncomfortable as the appointment was with two male doctors and the appointment was regarding a check up on my current contraception. There seemed to be plenty of female staff available as they kept coming out asking if anyone was waiting for contraceptive walk-ins (which there wasn’t) so I was put with two male staff as I had booked an appointment .
Considering the nature of the questions being asked at these appointments, I have never felt so uncomfortable and was too anxious to say anything about it. I can only think how a younger girl would feel if her first appointment was with two male staff, it was disheartening to think that there was no consideration of this for this kind of appointment. I did not feel I could discuss my situation properly and I certainly wouldn’t have felt comfortable if I did have any issues that I wanted to raise.
