"This is hindering us from receiving the correct support"

My son was referred to the Neurodevelopmental pathway in May/July 2021. We seen his paediatrician in the May but I don’t think the NDS got the referral until the July.

Whatever way we are now sitting at 3 years! 3 whole years without any contact from the team, no support from them offered. My son has very severe and complex medical, physical and learning needs. He has autistic diagnosed siblings and parents and is very clearly autistic. He also very clearly has a significant intellectual disability.

This is the team needed to diagnose the intellectual disability on paper, this is hindering us from receiving the correct support through other places. I’m feeling so let down that we still haven’t heard anything, and that no one even calls to check up on you and see how things are going while you’re left waiting without support. We have waited patiently for many years but it’s getting quite ridiculous now to not have heard a thing for this long.
