"The guidance I have received has been invaluable"

About: Children's Specialist Health Services / Family Nurse Partnership

(as a service user),

I’ve spent 2 and a half years under the care of the family nurse partnership and loved every minute of our journey. I’ve met 3 family nurses over this time and every one has been as lovely and attentive as the next. Without their help and support I’d have been lost in my journey as a first time mum, both in pregnancy and postpartum.

The guidance I have received has been invaluable and it the reassurance I’m doing the right thing has really increased my confidence as a mother. The relationship I created with my family nurse allowed me someone to open up with and express my feelings and experiences of being a new mum. Opening up to someone who has no judgement and is just there to support me no matter what I do is really helpful at times.

I’m so grateful for having a family nurse In times my children’s health has worried me, and they have always been there at first call to help me through these worrying times with constant reassurance and making sure everything has been okay.

Over all I’m extremely happy and grateful for my time within the family nurse partnership and believe it is a service every mother should benefit from in some way.

HiMumof2under2, thank you so much for your lovely comments about your Family Nurses and the time on the programme.

I'm so pleased to read about how much of a difference your Family Nurse has made to you and your wee ones. It can be really overwhelming being a mum for the first time, however it sounds as though your relationship with the Family Nurses has been very positive, and you have found their visits supportive, reassuring and they also gave you opportunities to learn too.

I'm delighted that FNP has made all the difference to you and that you have loved it as much as the staff love providing the service.

It would be good to know the nurses names, so we can pass on your thanks and appreciation to them. Would you be happy to contact me at the office on 01698 753687 - to share that information?

I also want to wish you and your wee ones all the best for your future together.

Many thanks and best wishes from the Family Nurse Partnership Team.
