"Very understanding and exceptional"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Accident & Emergency Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Imaging (Xrays and Scans)

(as a service user),

I attended recently with my son after the nursery had contacted me about a lump on the back of his leg.

We have recently as a family had a rough time with my sister in law being diagnosed with a sarcoma in her leg and requiring surgery.

As you can imagine I had all the worst thoughts in my head.

The consultant Natalie in A&E is a beautiful soul. Very understanding & exceptional in assessing my son. He had an Xray & ultrasound all within 4 hours! Thankfully, it was found to be a bakers cyst & we were given advice and a return appointment in 3 weeks. Exceptional care.

I know A&E isn't for these types of presentations, but the anxiety & stress has all been resolved tonight under the circumstances.

Thank you to the Xray & USS team also.

You all don't get enough credit, for the patience and care you give.

Dear Kat85

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback on care opinion.

I am sorry to hear of the circumstances in your family which caused you to have such concern for your son. I am glad that outcome was much less serious and that he is recovering well.

It was lovely to read of your positive experience of care in the ED Department and that the x-ray and ultrasound investigations were performed quickly and helped to put your mind at ease. I shared your feedback with Natalie, the Consultant in the ED Department as you had mentioned her specifically and also with the wider team in Radiology.

It means such a lot to our teams to know they have made a difference to those who are required to access our services.

Mary Pirie
