"Exceptional people who go the extra mile"

I was admitted for a Ureteroscopy + Laser procedure.

I arrived early and was greeted very warmly by the receptionist. I was called on time for my appointment by a Student Nurse called Sarah who completed an assessment with me, provided me with information, supported and followed me right through from admission to discharge. She was exceptional in every way. Kind caring and compassionate. I was so impressed at how much support and advice she received from the trained staff also.

Regretfully Im afraid I did not note the names of the other staff who treated me. But the nursing staff were superb. They treated me with dignity and respect. Very considerate, gentle and encouraging. They reassured me, explained every part of the procedure to me. I really appreciated how they joked with me and made me feel so at ease. The Anaesthetist and Consultant were very friendly and explained everything to me. They answered all my queries. They checked in with me following the procedure. Theatre staff again were very supportive and caring. They guided me through the difficult procedures and were so kind, gentle and thoughtful.

I am so grateful to all the team.

 The NHS gets a lot of criticism but it is the Government that needs to step up and support these committed hardworking and exceptional people who go the extra mile every time.
