Had a home birth at the start of May. Really positive birth experience. My midwife, Pia was part of the Lothian home birthing team who was really lovely, professional, answered all my questions and provided me with all the information that I needed. My midwife generally came to my home for routine appointments which made it easier for me with being heavily pregnant and having a toddler.
The midwifes on-call were reassuring and ensured that I felt fine to labour at home and ensured they sent midwifes out when I felt I needed them. The midwifes who helped deliver my baby were really kind and reassuring. Nothing was a bother. They were professional and also gave us some space to bond with our newborn. They followed my birthing plan and also ensured I was fine with them carrying out different checks. Would highly recommend a home birth. I felt supported during my pregnancy, labour and birth and my wishes were followed. I was very happy to not have to birth at my local hospital.
