My wee girl became unwell last week. As a nurse myself (and I’m sure lots of people in healthcare will be the same) I have quite a high threshold for phoning the Doctors. I kept my girl at home and looked after her for as long as I could but she was getting more unwell and eventually we went to OOH at RAH which ended in an admission to RHC.
I honestly could not be more impressed from beginning to end with the service we received. From the staff at out of hours (Dr Clark & co.) giving my girl immediate attention and not treating me like an “anxious mother”
To the fast and efficient care in A&E, the amazing clerkess in CDU feeding and watering me and my mum when we had nothing all day and finally the staff in 2C - ANP Stewart who done everything to ensure my girl was fit to go home, Mary the HCA overnight who even got a bottle for my girls Dolly! And the two most lovely, caring and hardworking students Siobhan and Claire who I just know are going to make the most AMAZING staff nurses and any ward would be lucky to have them!
The catering staff always stopped for a chat which was much appreciated when we couldn’t leave the room and the playteam really cheered my girl up bringing her new toys!
Cant thank you all enough xx
