"The care I received was excellent"

About: Cloughreagh House

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

My recent stay in Cloughreagh House was very good, I enjoyed my time there, Also the care I received was excellent, staff very friendly, I met so many staff but they were wearing name badges which helped me remember their names.

I looked forward to the hairdresser coming in weekly, also there was activities going on. I would have liked to see more games like bingo and talk about old times, there is a gym upstairs but I was never sure when it was opened, I would like to have more notice when physio was coming in to see me but they were excellent,

My room was a good size as I had a lot of equipment with me. The dining room was nice and bright, good choice of food and lots of it, maybe a few different options for breakfast like some bacon or sausage.

The sitting room was good for getting together to have a chat. The welcome pack was helpful to pass on information to my visitors.

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion, we really do welcome all feedback from people who access our service. In response to your feedback regarding activities, Cloughreagh staff have taken on board what you have suggested and have revised the weekly activity programme to include more interactive activities such as bingo, board games and reminiscence. If you would like to see the revised activity programme I would be happy to share this with you.

I will pass your feedback with the rehab team regarding the therapy gym opening hours. For health and safety reasons the gym is locked when it is not been used. Service Users can only access the gym under the supervision of the rehab staff.

I will also discuss with the rehab team how going forward we can where possible provide sufficient notice to Service Users with regard to their rehab. We do have white communication boards in all of the bedrooms and on most occasions rehab staff will record when they intend to visit.

I will also discuss with the catering staff your feedback on breakfast options

On behalf of the team in Cloughreagh I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and to wish you continued good health.

Kind regards

Kate mc Beth
