"Maternity care QEUH"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Maternity care

(as a service user),

I had my daughter in mid February. I had such excellent care from all the teams. From getting scans, reviews at the maternity assessment, getting sweeps done, the labour and birth and also the after care in the ward 47, I had excellent care from caring and compassionate staff despite being under such great pressures. I wish I could remember everyone’s names to thank them especially but I did make a note before having my baby to thank: Dr Cooper, Joanne, Fiona and Elaine in the day care unit. Also, midwife Lisa in ward 48 for being so caring when I was so anxious. I was readmitted with sepsis and again found the care to be great. I remember the ward sister in ward 47 also being very kind (I remember she had an Italian name). All the staff including the support workers (I think one was called Carol), domestic staff etc were great and so helpful.

My midwives Lauren and then Lynn (and student Iona) were truly excellent. They were so supportive during my labour and made it such a positive and memorable experience. This was my first birth which I was very anxious about but thankfully it was such a special experience which I am so grateful to the staff for. The staff I came across were so compassionate and dedicated. Thanks so much.

Dear Feb-baby2024

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your maternity care here at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Maternity Unit in Glasgow during the birth of your daughter.

It is reassuring to read of such caring and compassionate staff and how you received such excellent care form our teams across the unit.

I will ensure that your thanks and praise are passed on to ultrasound, Maternity triage, labour ward, ward 48 and Ward 47 and in particular, to everyone mentioned.

Our team at QEUH work tirelessly to ensure that women and babies receive kind, safe and effective care at all times, often during difficult circumstances and I am so proud of each and every one of them.

Thank you again and best wishes to you and your family.

Gaynor
