I was under the care of a gynaecologist consultant since 2018.
I was advised to lose weight and then call to book for a procedure (hysterectomy). I had eventually at 2020 reached my target weight as required and contacted back the gynaecology service only to be told that my consultant was no longer working with NHS Lanarkshire and that I had to be re referred by my GP.
I have since did this in November and was told 24 week waiting list (that was just to see another consultant baring in mind I had already been seen and same problems exist!). I have been in contact with patient referral management to see where I was on waiting list to be told I’m at 28 weeks of a 24 week waiting list and expect to wait until 48 now.
I think this is a terrible way to treat patients especially when they have done what you asked them to do. Why should I be penalised for a consultant leaving their post! I’ve already been on the waiting list since 2018. Then 2020 and now I am no further forward.
