"The compassion and advice helped us all greatly"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Ward A4 Endocrine and Diabetes

(as a parent/guardian),

On 24th May my teenage son was admitted into the A4 ward at Antrim Hospital with a newly diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes.

This was a very difficult, stressful and anxious time for my son and us as parents to comprehend firstly the diagnosis but also the impact this would have on my sons future and our family lifestyle moving forward.

I want to highlight the care, communication and support that was given to my son and to us as parents was nothing short of excellent. The compassion and advice that was shared by everyone on the very busy ward has helped us all greatly moving forward with this diagnoses.

I wanted to thank everyone for seeing a scared young boy and his parents and providing reassurance and taking the time for friendly chats during our stay.
