Arrived at 11.30 for an 11.50 appointment and looked for a disabled space. There seem to be very few of them so tried to find any space. Went right round to the back of the building which, if anything, was worse than the front.
Back round to front and did complete tour of front car parks but no spaces. People already parking on pavements and at end of rows on raised areas. Complete shambles. Had to phone department when appointment time came to say I was on site and would be there eventually.
Still no proper spaces so I eventually did what others had done and found an empty bit of pavement. Made sure there was still access for wheelchair etc if need be. Got to appointment 15 mins late. Spent twice as long trying to find a parking space than I did getting the scan.
Something needs to be done here. It is obvious that many of the spaces are taken up by staff, which I understand, but there is a severe lack of disabled parking. Monkland hospital in Airdrie addressed the same issue some years ago. Why can’t Wishaw do the same?
