About: Derriford Hospital

Had a scan done here and was absolutely shocked at the running of waiting room 2. HCAs that work there are serious unprofessional, I have never come across this before and I have had a lot of appointments across the board. Seemed like they were on a jolly, all sat around chatting loudly belching and swearing. I just sat there in total shock, I could have been in a pub on a Saturday night! The admission staff at the door were great along with the lady's who did my scan but serious let down by their HCAs.

I am very sorry for the experience you have had.

We pride ourselves with being professional and outstanding in our delivery of care in the Chestnut Unit.

I am shocked and saddened by your comment and want to reassure you that we are taking it seriously.

All of the staff will be spoken to and will be reminded about their conduct when working to represent the Chestnut Unit and UHP as a whole.

This is not acceptable and measures will be taken to ensure nobody has to have the same experience.

Please accept my sincere apologies, thank you for taking the time to email and bring this to my attention.

Tracey Whittingham

Unit Manager
