In early April I was diagnosed with having rectal cancer. Devastated to say the least, but after meeting with my consultant Mr Manimaran he put me at ease and clearly informed me of the options open to him. I was then selected for robotic surgery to be carried out by consultant Mr Ekatah who advised me of the benefits of this type of surgery.
in the middle of May I had my operation and to my relief, plan A had come good. The professionalism, dedication and care shown by these consultants was outstanding. All the nurses in the HDU, ward 44 and the Colorectal unit who looked after my care whilst in hospital was also outstanding.
