"Thank you everyone for such a positive experience"

I attended the day surgery unit at Crosshouse hospital for elective removal of endometriosis. I was extremely anxious due to having experience as a nurse. Knowledge can make for great apprehension.

Every single staff member I met within the day surgery unit had such a lovely manner about them, they offered me so much reassurance. The anaesthetist, Issie, was amazing as were all of her nursing staff within theatre 5 as they could see that I was frightened.

All the recovery staff were angels - nothing was a problem. So caring. Especially as I had a respiratory event while in recovery and it was quickly recognised and expert care delivered.

Dr Inyang also deserves a special mention as he is an wonderful consultant. I've worked with a few in my time and I rate him exceptionally highly. Such a wonderful bed side manner, you always find him the same way. No question is too silly for him to answer and he is excellent at explaining things.

I have been very impressed this admission by all the staff I have encountered. The Gyn staff with the ward are also angels - I had to stay overnight after surgery. Thank you everyone for such a positive experience.
