Today I underwent a tonsillectomy. I cannot thank the ward staff enough with how supportive and helpful they were. From the moment I stepped foot in Stracathro, I felt so welcomed and safe and from the moment I left. Even the hospital transport was fab!
The ward staff were so caring and attentive which helped ease the process and the anxiety I was feeling. I also met with the anaesthesiologists, I let them know about previous bad experiences with anaesthesia and they made sure to take this into consideration and ensured I felt comfortable throughout. One of them even came up after my surgery and let me know what to ask for, if I was to ever come back and get anaesthetic again. Him taking the time to do that meant a lot and has reassured me about the whole process. The care throughout from every member of staff has just been amazing. I really can’t thank them enough. I also want to note that I had a lovely recovery nurse who was so kind and helpful to me, I just want to thank her so much as she went above and beyond and really made me feel safe especially being there by myself.
Even the other members of staff, who were not directly involved in my operation/recovery, were so amazing. You can really tell every person within the team does such a fantastic job and really goes the extra mile. I hope they all realise the positive impact they have and how grateful I am for all their support. Also massive thanks to the surgeon for how smoothly and quickly the surgery went. I wish I could remember most of their names but I think the anaesthetic hasn’t helped! To all the staff working early and lates on Wednesday, thank you so so much!! You really are such an amazing bunch of people. Can’t thank you enough.
