"A 5 star experience"

About: Cannock Chase Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a service user),

Recently attended Cannock Chase Hospital for an elective knee replacement. Speedily processed through to Hilton Main & prepared for the operation that day.  All the staff then and later during my recovery were kind & caring.  All went well with the surgery and I was x-rayed prior to discharge 2days later.

Sadly, it was decided that I'd need a 2nd operation and had stay in hospital for a suitable theatre slot the following week.  Physio was started immediately.  So by the time my 2nd op came round I knew what to do.  Ward staff & physios were always professional but kind and concerned, not just about my physical well being, but also my mental/emtional well being.

I became quite distressed due to lack of sleep through noise on the ward bay during the night.  I was  offered a bed on an empty bay which I accepted with thanks.   Pain relief was generous & available day or night.

It was obvious that staff took their moto call don't fall seriously as I never had to wait long for an escorts to & from the loo etc.  Catering staff went the other mile to make sure they provided meals that were palatable & met my preferences.  From cleaners to consultants everyone did their best to ensure I received  a 5 star experience.  Well done.
