"Carpal Tunnel Surgery Recovery"

About: Occupational Therapy / Occupational Therapy - Outpatient Hand Service

(as the patient),

I came in for a follow up appointment with my surgeon and to have my stitches removed. I was experiencing difficulty with my grip, as to be expected following surgery, and was concerned about recovery times and my ability to get back to work.

My surgeon advised that he was referring me for occupational therapy and I asked how long it would take and expressed concern about possibly having to wait a long time. He then asked his coordinator to contact occupational therapy to see how quickly they could book me in.

The coordinator was already aware of a gap in their schedule and worked with them to get me in the very same day! Incredible service.

I met with Asma, who was incredibly kind and thoughtful. She assessed my personal situation with my hand and listened carefully to my concerns and provided me with the bespoke support I needed to aid with my recovery. Her knowledge was very comprehensive and she also took time to double check her recommendations with her line manager to ensure she was providing me with the right care. I could not possibly have asked for a better experience.
