"Professional and cheerful"

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital / Older people's healthcare Mid Hampshire Community Therapy Team

(as a service user),

I was referred to the service, as I have lost my confidence and reliability in my balance in some situations. This may have been the result of my having broken my neck three years ago or my medication.

Raj did a preliminary assessment on me and allocated me to a weekly ten-session course in a group of about eighteen of us with a range of physical challenges.  I was able to do most of the exercises relatively easily, but I discovered what my specific weaknesses are and what I need to work on, which was very useful.  I am confident that I will be able to go on improving my balance, if I use the literature to do the exercises.

Raj and his assistants were professional and cheerful with all members of the group, although we responded differently with our very different abilities.
