"Rude receptionist "

About: Pontefract General Infirmary

The services were good except reception. First time I met so rude receptionist at Pontefract hospital. I arrived and explained that I called 111 and they advised to visit hospital, she replied disrespectfully. I had 40 degrees fever and horrible headache, I couldn't speak loudly and she was really rude. The whole conversation made me more upset than I had already been. I regret that I didn't note her name.

I am really sorry and extremely disappointed to read of the events you have described following your arrival to the department. What you have described does not meet the Trust's values and behaviours and I am sorry that you experienced such behaviour.

I have shared your feedback with the manager of the service so that they can share with staff how this interaction has negatively impacted your experience of the hospital. Staff will also be reminded of the Trust's values and behaviours.
