"The care and attention was first class"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 3 South Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a relative),

My husband who has Parkinson's was taken into Craigavon Area Hospital during the night with a bleed from the back passage. We received excellent care from the ambulance crew and I was allowed to travel in the ambulance with him. We were well looked after while we waited an hour and a half to be admitted. My husband got a bed and received excellent care while waiting to be seen  by a doctor. The department was extremely busy but we were not neglected. When he was moved to a Ward in the morning the care and attention was first class. He spent five days in the hospital and the care he received was first class. Everyone involved in his care were so good and were so pleasant and kind to us all despite being extremely busy. First class treatment.

Good morning Sarah372,

I would like to begin by thanking you for taking the time to share your experience of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. It was reassuring to learn how excellent the care was that your husband received and how well you both were looked after during your wait to be admitted. As an organisation we are committed to consistently show compassion, professionalism, and respect for the patients we care for.

I hope your husband is recovering well.

Kind regards,

Maggie
