My partner was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour and had surgery to debulk. Mr Hughes and the entire team within the DCN at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary have been fantastic including pre-assessment team, theatre suite (special mention to nurse Gina in theatre DOSA who kept us both calm whilst waiting to for my partner to go into theatre) critical care staff in ward 116 and the staff in DCN ward 130 and the neuro oncologist Dr Erridge and the specialist nurses.

Mr Hughes is so approachable, has taken the time to explain things in depth, honestly and puts you at ease right away. We feel very lucky in the midst of what has been a very difficult time to have such a fantastic consultant.

Everything from start to now with DCN has been such a positive experience, their set up is excellent,  all of the staff are so nice, plenty of information is passed on to you to prepare for surgery and at no point have we felt in the dark about anything or felt like we had a lack of information.

Couldn’t have asked to be cared for by a better team. We are extremely grateful for everyone that has been involved in my partner's care, they have not only supported him but also me too in what’s is a difficult journey right now. Amazing.

Dear pavopn93,

Thank you for taking the time to send this lovely feedback. I know how difficult this time can be and it's nice to hear that the whole experience was positive at a very difficult time.

I hope your partner is continuing to recover from their surgery. Please pass on our well wishes.

I will ensure this feedback is passed on to the team.
