My experience of undergoing an Elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy and suture repair of umbilical hernia.
Since my diagnosis to my operation, I have received the utmost care and attention by every department involved during my process. I know that a system exists for praising individual NHS Staff members but, I felt NHS Grampian, Dr Grays Hospital, Elgin, Moray, collectively deserve my recognition of thanks and praise for the excellent and professional service that I received.
To be clear, this starts with the Ambulance crew/paramedics who picked me up, the numerous A&E staff members who saw me through those first hours of pain and apprehension.
The CT scan technicians, the Pre Surgical Assessment staff, the nurses who took my bloods and vitals, Dr Nicol, the surgical team and anaesthetists team who conducted the operation.
Finally, to all the supporting staff including medical secretaries, receptionists and the cleaners who conduct an often unseen but equally vital task in keeping the hospital clean and safe for the patients.
To all of you, you have my sincere gratitude. No matter your role or level of position the NHS that I experienced over the last 3 months exemplified the definition of teamwork. You should all be proud of the role you fulfil because you are without a doubt a credit to your profession. Thank you!
