"Stress incontinence"

About: Physiotherapy / Physiotherapy Pelvic Health Team

(as the patient),

I am a mature lady. With a busy lifestyle minding a young Granddaughter. I felt embarrassed with the frequent need to visit toilets when out and about. Afraid to sneeze. Having to wear protection in case of an accident. Making me feel I did not want to go out. Living on my own this made me feel down.

I got a referral from my GP to attend a specialist Physiotherapist. I received such useful advice over more that six months, attending monthly appointments. Monitoring Fluids/diet. Limiting caffeine, amounts I drank etc. Then info about pelvic floor exercises. Completing Treatment. It has made such a change to my life. I cannot express the professional way I was treated, in a very kind, caring manner.

Charlotte5.

Thankyou for taking the time out to send in this care opinion. Bladder problems can be very embarrassing to live with and are all too common yet pelvic health physiotherapy can offer sufferers so much. I am delighted that you found your sessions beneficial, you have obviously worked hard putting all the advice and exercises into practice-well done!

I will ensure your compliment is shared with the team.

Many thanks
