I suffer from multiple illnesses and had to give up work when l got Covid. I was unable to stand or walk for more then a few minutes. l couldn’t carry a cup without shaking and was unable to cook or clean my house. I was afraid to shower and went months only using body wipes. I felt useless and lazy and having severe pain everyday. I then had 5 falls over a period of 3-4 months and needed assistance to do anything.
OT Louise was sent to me and gave me hope that things could improve and she gave me a variety of tools to help me.eg. special cutlery, grabber for reaching things, a pole to help dress myself and put on socks. I was given a wheeled trolley to carry items from kitchen which was great. Louise helped me shower and this built up my strength to continue. I use a walking stick and outside l use a rollator with the seat so l can sit down anytime l feel shaky. My wheelchair has now arrived and l look forward to getting out in car with my family.
I also have mental health issues and become anxious and depressed at times but l listen to relaxing music and do breathing exercises which helps. Louise has been wonderful and patient and positive about my improvement and l can’t thank her enough.
"Wonderful and patient and positive"
