I was sent home from accident and emergency with pain relief recently.
The doctor in accident and emergency was lovely and thought it was a surgical matter so asked for the surgical team to come to see me. They were also lovely and it was then picked up that it wasn't a surgical matter it was medical so the medical doctor came to see me.
The medical doctor said that he was away to speak to his team and he would come back to see me which he never did. The surgical doctor did but what is scary is that my bloods indicated an infection but no antibiotics were given.
I was sent home with pain relief only for me to have to go back a week later to be admitted to get antibiotics and a CT scan to show the infection in my bowel.
This is not the first time I have been sent home without antibiotics for an infection.
