"Softly spoken and very informative"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Out of Hours Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

Late night/early morning we contacted NHS24 worried about our two year olds breathing. We were contacted by the Out of Hours GP to attend DGRI for assessment.

I wish we remembered the Drs name (I’m sure someone referred to him as “AJ”) because he was absolutely amazing. He spoke gently and took his time to assess our son. When our son got upset, he got a video on his phone for him to watch to distract him.

The Dr was kind, informative and very good with kids! We were then sent to the paediatric ward to be assessed further, again, I have forgotten names! But the nurses were all lovely! The dr who came to assess our son was fabulous, again, kind, softly spoken and very informative.

The nurses & student nurse who took his observations were all so great. We couldn’t have faulted our (thankfully short) stay. What an absolute credit to DGRI. Thank you all!

Hi @Eaten604

I would like to start by thanking you for taking the time to leave us feedback on your recent stay. I am delighted to read that the staff across the system made this a relaxed experience and I will be sure to share your kind words with the team involved. I am glad to read that your stay was short and hope that your son is continuing to improve at home.

Best wishes

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding, I have had some technical issues accessing the website.

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with such lovely feedback in relation to Dr AJ. I have shared with him your feedback and he has responded as follows:

"I'm very pleased to hear that the care provided to your son was appreciated. Positive feedback like this is very encouraging and motivates me and my colleagues to continue providing the best care possible. Thank you".

I hope your sons health has continued to improve.

Many thanks again, your feedback is very much appreciated.
