"The staff were incredible"

About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Elderly Medicine (ward K south, 2 & 3 Larkfield Unit)

(as a relative),

My Pops was admitted to Ward 2 following an admission for an episode of collapse. Louise and the staff were incredible, when his cognitive abilities and skills declined they showed care, compassion and patience with him. I felt leaving him after visiting that he was in good hands. The staff kept his spirits up when he needed a little support to look forward. I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for him and the family. With Elderly Care Wards being so demanding and heavy, patients were met with a smile and gentle banter from admission to discharge. We, in the profession, can be the most critical at time but I have to say I am proud to call you all colleagues. Thank you again.

Dear Kirsten473,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post of your Pops' experience in Ward 2, Larkfield Unit.

Louise and her team were delighted to hear your kind words regarding the care and compassion your Pops received. I'm glad they were able to lift his spirits to aid recovery as they see this very much as part of their role.

Thank you again for your lovely words.

Heather
