Interaction with Receptionist at Health Centre.
I emailed my repeat prescription on the Monday. I checked on the progress of this request on the Friday as I was worried I would run out of medication over the weekend.
I was right to be concerned. I called the health centres and was informed by a receptionist that I would have to request my medication in writing on the day in question but that there were no guarantees my GP would action this.
I raised my concerns about not having pain medication over the weekend ( I would also go into withdrawals). The receptionist just repeated I would have to request this in writing. I asked them if anything could be done to help me and it was a big fat no.
I had vaginal and pelvic surgical mesh scraped and cut from my body earlier in the year. It has been horrific and left my in severe pain. This has had a knock on effect with my mental health. I cannot believe that I couldn’t get any help from the receptionist.
Who is advocating on my behalf ? It would appear no one. It would appear that my fears and concerns do not matter.
