There is an error on my medication record, where I should be on a repeat prescription, but for some reason this has not been recorded.
For the past couple of months, I have had to repeatedly ring the reception to request another prescription. It never gets sorted first time (despite the receptionist saying it will be) and I have to chase in order to get my medication before it runs out.
This week (Wednesday 15 May, 12:58pm), I drove to the surgery to drop off my BP measurements, and request another month of BP medication. The receptionist started to deal with my request but at 13:00, she told me that they were now closed for training and I would have to ring back tomorrow to complete this task. It was the face-to-face equivalent of being hung up on.
Today, I rang the surgery at 14:00 as requested, and started to explain the issue. The receptionist impolitely cut me off to ask for my name.
She then told me that reception no longer deal with prescription requests because they are too busy. I was told to either ring between 8am and 9am, or drive to the surgery at 3pm to request this. I told the receptionist that this was disappointing because I was not told this information the day before, I work full time and cannot take spontaneous time off to drive to the doctors to ask for them to fix a prescription problem. No apology or solution given.
"Poor reception care"
