"Put at ease on 1st CAMHS appointment"

About: Child and Adolescent Mental Services / CAMHS Craigavon & Banbridge

(as a service user),

I've had an appointment mid May 2024 with Matthew at Bocombra Lodge. He put me and my dad at ease to begin with and then he talked to me alone for quite a while and he seemed to understand and acknowledge my feelings and learning difficulties.

I look forward to seeing him more regularly and hopefully he could help me further.

Hello

Thank you for taking the time to post your story on Care Opinion - I am glad to hear that when you met with Matthew that you felt at ease. It is important that young people get the opportunity to speak with the practitioner on their own if this is requested. Sometimes when a young person arrives for an assessment, they don't like their parent / carer to be present so your feedback advising that you felt it was helpful is good for us to hear. I hope that you will continue to benefit from future appointments and wish you well. I will be updating Matthew on your story.

Regards

Shirley
