My son attends Dr Hughes paediatric service in John Mitchell place Newry. My son has hydrocephalus and after being assessed by Dr Hughes he expressed some concerns about how well my sons shunt was working.
He arranged a CT scan that was carried out in a timely manner and contacted us with the results, which showed the shunt was indeed not working properly. We were directed to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, and he had surgery.
At a very worrying time we felt heard and assured by Dr Hughes. His professionalism and fast action was vital. As parents, we're so thankful.
"Excellent paediatric care."
