When I went to Rowley Hall Hospital, I was greeted by helpful staff and informed that the appointment was running a little late, but we sat in a small waiting area to be called through.
The doctor called me through and introduced themself, I introduced my husband and the response I got was that they didn't think he was someone I met in the waiting room, a little shocked at this, but continued to the consultation room.
The Doctor asked me questions about a previous issue that were no longer a concern, but they did not listen to me when I told them I was no longer concerned about this but more the reason I had been referred. This was ignored and I got the impression they had already decided on a treatment plan before I entered the room and were not going to be swayed from this.
They said they wanted to give me another hysteroscopy and biopsy and insert merina coil, even though I repeated i do not want the coil as this is not the issue I have attended for. I was disregarded. I told them about my previous experience of hysteroscopy where I was in great pain and had to almost be held down by the nurses and their response was to tell me I want a GA for this little procedure, but I should just take strong painkillers and they'll use a local anaesthetic.
The appointment was not even ten minutes, and I was not listened to at all during the consultation, even my husband who accompanied me as I was scared of what might be involved in the appointment after a previous Gynae appointment experience, was shocked at how I was ignored and my concerns not addressed but mocked during the appointment.
I have been sent a date for the procedure, but am so worried about it and getting sleepless nights, I really don't know what to do but don't feel that I can discuss this with a doctor who I felt to be so uncaring and rude.
