"Wonderful Doctor"

I am writing to sing the praises of a particular doctor in The Nidderdale Group Practice.

Against the backdrop of a struggling NHS and the impact that has had on GP practices, lack of funding and overworked staff, I had become used to long waiting times for appointments and a short allotted time given when you actually see a doctor.

I had come to believe that the lifelong patient doctor relationship as I had known it as a child, where a doctor truly knows you, there is a continuity between you and a feeling of being held, looked after and really listened to was over.

When I first saw this doctor I had a condition that had been misdiagnosed for 4 years. Without the correct medication, the symptoms had become unbearable and daily life was miserable. After a thorough examination and questioning, she correctly diagnosed a bad case of Lichten sclerosis. Given the correct medication and follow up at the hospital, my condition has cleared up and is now monitored and I can live a normal life.

I feel grateful to have found her. She is a wonderful doctor, thorough, caring and attentive. I feel very safe in her hands and I believe The Nidderdale Group practice is very lucky to have her amongst their staff.
