"Caring and confident in their work"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Day Case Unit Dr Gray's Hospital / Surgical Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

I was referred to the hospital via my Gp the same day.The nurses who took care of me were very caring and confident in their work and very professional.I had bloods taken & seen a surgical Dr within 2 hours. It was then decided I needed a small procedure done via the surgical team and the original Dr pulled out all the stops to allow this to happen very quickly to eleviate my pain.

The surgeon and his team came & met with me and explained what all was going to happen in theartre making me feel very relaxed at this point.

Procedure took place no problems and I was returned to day case ward in the late afternoon, being cared for by the nurse I had already met in SAC unit.

After a small rest & observations taken every 30 minutes I was allowed to eat & drink.Nothing was too much problem for the nurse and student nurse on duty that day and I was cared for extremely well.

I was allowed home in the early evening.

Entirely grateful to all these staff, nurses, Dr and consultant and indeed his whole theatre team.
