"Transport to appointment"

About: Perth Royal Infirmary / Clinical Investigations Unit

(as a service user),

I had an appointment for an Infusion at PRI, unfortunately I am not allowed to drive after this, therefore I rely on public transport after all they are always trying to promote low emissions if you can. I had to leave my house very early in the morning to catch a bus into Dundee city centre to then catch another to Perth, due to some buses being removed.

I unfortunately cannot access this service in Dundee and have to visit PRI every 7 weeks.

I checked on the bus app and it advised to get off and walk for 10 minutes to the Hospital

The bus took almost two hours and I got off the bus at 09.05 - this was very stressful and I was worried about being late for my 9am appointment as I also had a walk after my departure.

On my arrival my blood pressure was high and I unfortunately had to sit all day at my appointment panicking about my return journey home.

My whole experience was so stressful, I have mobility issues and walk with a stick.

Dear Riva

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback detailing your experience of travelling from Dundee to Perth for your treatment. I am aware that some public transport services have been removed, but also that they have been replaced by another service, which I believe to be the service which you have used.

I apologise that your journey for treatment to our unit has been made significantly more difficult and stressful by this change of public services. I am unable to comment with regard to the reason for the change in service from the transport provider, or indeed if there are other alternative services available which you can access.

If you would like to email me directly, I would be happy to discuss with you if there are any other options available to reduce the stress of your journey in time for your next appointment with us in 7 weeks.

Thank you once again for providing your feedback

Best wishes

Lesley Kram
