I attended my GP with quite severe pain in both knees, left heel and neck, additionally my right knee was inflamed and swollen.
I attended the Merlin Centre, where only my right knee was x-rayed.
I Had physio at Cherrymead. After attending a physio privately, I requested a test for Polymyalgia. A Blood test was done which showed negative.
Another physio appointment. Telecon with Merlin and Cherrymead after went to my physio, asked for a referral, and Dr suggested another, different, blood test. Blood test booked.
Another Merlin appointment, again by telecon.
I seriously am worried by the sheer cost of all this treatment as I have never been examined by an Ortho Doctor and am little clearer about how to deal with my OA and Achilles Tendonitus, or if there is any link between them.
I feel that the NHS system is being penny wise and pound foolish. Surely telephone appointments for this are next to useless. Do I have to pay privately for a scan to have an educated overview, instead of each bit being looked at in isolation?
Sorry to have such a long whinge, but I do have a pertinent point about wasting resources.
"Lack of resolution regarding ongoing health problem"
