"My de-tox experience"

I have have mental health and substance mis-use problems since an early age.

I have had multiple re- habs  and two de-tox opprtunities but each time I relapsed as I could not relate to the services they offered. 

CGL managed to find a place at Dame Carol which took around a couple of months to wait.  I was relieved to have this change as I was spiraling downwards. 

I cannot remember arriving here or the first three days being here. After day 5 I started to realise where I was was and what I was doing. The alcohol de-tox for me here was quite easy.  Following this I went on to do a methadone de-tox. This I struggled with but manged to find the strength to carry on an complete it. In total I was here for 27 days.

I found the other clients really supportive and the staff were very professional  and made my stay comfortable, safe and I always felt supported. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to de-tox  at DCDS.
