"Excellent advice"

About: Forth Valley Community Services / Macmillan One to One

(as a service user),

Both my husband and myself were struggling and we got excellent advice from Macmillan team as to various contacts for receiving benefits - care allowance. Also contacts for general well-being and get together meetings at Golden Lion Hotel in Stirling where speakers were excellent and the ladies there who volunteer are lovely.

Lead nurse for the Macmillan One to One team, who provide psychosocial support to people affected by cancer. The aim of the team is to maximise quality of life by completing a Holistic Needs Assessment (HNA) with the patient and agree on an individualised care plan, usually completed in the patient's home. The team provide physical, emotional and practical support, whether following diagnosis, after treatment, or anytime after suffering long-term consequences of cancer and its treatment.

Thank you so much for this feedback. The coffee drop in is a fantastic chance for people to meet others in a community setting, and to share their experiences. Telling people how you feel about the impact our service has made on you is extremely important and valuable to us as a service. We thrive to ensure people affected by cancer have guidance, support and information in order that they can carry on living their lives, so thank you for letting us know we have achieved this for you.
