"Care and compassion throughout"

About: Maternity care (Ward 31) / Early Pregnancy Assessment Service Maternity care (Ward 31) / Labour suite maternity Maternity care (Ward 31) / Maternity care (Ward 31) Royal Alexandra Hospital / Maternity care (Ward 31)

(as the patient),

I was admitted to the RAH hospital in Paisley recently for induction due to age and reduced movement. From the moment we arrived we were treated with the highest quality of care and compassion in all wards that we experienced. Unfortunately the hospital was extremely busy over the Easter period and the induction process took several days - however the midwives and nursing staff were excellent throughout.

We eventually got to the labour ward when I was dilated enough to have waters broken and labour to start. The midwives in the labour ward suite were excellent (Holly, Roslyn & Kenny)…they made our experience so positive and we can’t thank them enough for delivering our baby safe and well that night.

Unfortunately our baby ended up in the special baby unit the next day where he remained for several days before he was well enough to be discharged. Our experience there was also second to none. Lisa and the team there provided the best care, support and guidance. We couldn’t be more grateful for this in such stressful times!

We are so grateful for the support from everyone we encountered during our stay. They didn’t falter in terms of care and compassion throughout, despite it clearly being very busy!

Thank you.

Dear Go83

Congratulations on the birth of your baby. I am sorry your induction process took so long and thank you for being so understanding. The Easter period was extremely busy but I am delighted that the staff have treated you with the highest quality of care and compassion. I will share your feedback with Holly, Roslyn and Kenny. I will also contact the special baby unit to make sure that Lisa receives this lovely feedback. Thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion and I hope you and baby are both well.

Kindest Regards,

Laura Flynn
