"Great hospital"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

I was on holiday in Eastbourne for several days and come from southport. I had a urostomy 12 years ago and unfortunately the stoma bags I had with me were faulty and leaking. Tried everywhere for help to no avail and ended up at A & E at 10pm. Was astounded at the kindness and consideration shown to me especially from the young lady doctor who saw me. She managed to obtain new bags for me and even cut them to size and sent us off with a supply. I was back at our hotel by 11.30 and able to continue our first holiday in 5 years. I can't thank Eastbourne Hospital and the doctor who treated me enough. Just wish it was near us. The Eastbourne population are very, very lucky!!!

Dear Harry,

It was lovely to read your kind words following your visit to our Emergency Department at Eastbourne District General Hospital. We realise it can be worrying being away from home when you need medical help and are pleased that the doctor was able to assist you with a supply of stoma bags and showed kindness, which is one of our key Trust values.

We will ensure that your heartfelt feedback is shared with the doctor who saw you in the Emergency Department and do hope you enjoyed the rest of your well-earned holiday.
