I would like to take this opportunity to offer my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Health Care professionals I have been honoured to meet during my continuing journey with coping with the effects of Parkinson's.
The head of the team is Consultant Ben. Ben has the knack of making complicated issues understandable. He doesn't sugar coat things. He tells you how it is and what to expect in a very honest and forthright manner. He gives you realistic expectations and is phenomenally kind and understanding.
When I attend the clinic I am normally met by Margaret and Angela. They always cheer you up no matter what mood you are in. They are very caring and sincere.
Sometimes I also meet with Leigh. She is very professional, very kind and non-judgemental. She is very understanding. To know that Leigh is at the other end of the phone if I have to phone East Kilbride means I don't feel so isolated. She is always available and will always return my calls if she is not available when I call. She is always reliable and easy to talk to.
Her colleague, Chris, is also a reliable stalwart. Again she never fails to return my call. She is very professional and kind.
I cannot over emphasise the peace of mind it gives me knowing these people are out in the community. I don't feel half as isolated. The knowledge and professional standards of the whole team is an asset and a credit to NHS Lanarkshire.
"Phenomenally kind and understanding"
