"All of the staff were so pleasant and professional"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Breast Care

(as the patient),

I recently attended screening in AAH for breast screening as I had a breast lump. Unfortunately it took over 9 weeks from seeing my GP to get my hospital follow up. This obviously added to my anxiety.

All of the staff, without exception, were so pleasant and professional. They all introduced themselves, were reassuring and explained each part of the process.

I was fortunate with the outcome of my follow up, but what was a worrying time was made considerably easier thanks to the professionalism and courtesy of the staff.  The process overall was smooth and efficient.

Good afternoon Deputydawg, my name is Bernie Irvine and I am the Lead Nurse for surgery and Breast Care. Firstly I am very sorry it took 9 weeks for you to be seen by us but we are working very hard to try and improve this.

I am so glad that when you were seen you found all the staff to be pleasant and professional.

I am glad to hear that your outcome was good. I will ensure that the staff hear about your good experience and kind words.

Best wishes for your continued improvement.

Bernie Irvine.

Thank you Bernie, please do pass on my regards to the staff they were really great on the day. Sadly I know waiting times are a common 'complaint' across the board.
