"Welcoming, friendly, professional and supportive"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Day Surgery University Hospital Hairmyres / Elective Orthopaedics (Ward 7)

(as the patient),

I recently had a right hip replacement and also metal removed from my leg from previous injury. The care and treatment I received  from admission to discharge was amazing.

I was initially admitted to day surgery under the care of Mr. Abbas who I can not thank enough for the due care and attention given, I truly appreciated being in safe hands.

The surgery was a great success due to his high level of skills, knowledge, experience  and professionalism.. The care in the day surgery unit was also excellent, the staff were very welcoming, friendly, professional and supportive, making sure everyone was comfortable, which was reassuring and made me feel safe.

I would also like to thank the theatre staff for all their hard work, not that I remember much thankfull,y but the outcome  has been brilliant.

I would  also like to thank the staff in ward 7  a busy admission ward on a theatre day where it seemed everything ran like clock work. The staff could not to enough for you they were very welcoming, patient, professional and friendly and all seemed to be really  happy at their work there. It was a lovely, safe, warm friendly atmosphere and it was a privilege for me to be cared for by such a dedicated professional team.

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, I am making a great recovery and am truly grateful to you all.

Dear Nifty Nanny,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such positive feedback with regards to your recent experience whilst undergoing hip replacement. It is really good to read that on many occasions you were made to feel safe and reassured as undergoing an operation can be a very worrying time.

I will share your feedback with the team and I know they will be thrilled to read this.

I hope you are recovering well from your surgery,

Take care

Katie
