"She made me calm down, guided me"

About: HMP Huntercombe

(as a service user),

From Day one at Huntercombe I was met by a very professional, friendly, experienced keyworker, Doria. I must say if it was not for Doria, I would not be here today.

I was thinking so negatively to the extreme, I saw no point in living. But, she made me calm down, guided me through One to One sessions and other programmes through DART which were very helpful, although the advice, support, care, help, positivity and assistance I received from Doria was just exemplary. I wish there was more people like her here and in my previous prison because I lacked all this support there.

A big thank you to all the DART Team, admin, Mandy, and my keyworker Doria, I am so sorry if I missed anyones names.

Thank you for the mental health team although it took too long and several requests to receive help eventually from the team. I wish the response and assistance was given initially, because lack of professional help initially only made my mental health worse by the day, and actually worsened when I had to literally beg for support, so I please urge the people in charge to look into employing more staff and availing more funding more programmes, and other vital assistance that is lacking. If there was a little more staff and resources invested to the service it would make life much easier for the current staff trying to cope with so many prisoners and not being able to offer so much more time & help from the staff. A Big thank you to all the people who helped me.
