I spent 16 weeks attending Roxburgh House, Aberdeen on a Wednesday following my diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.
During my time there, I was well looked after and undertook a project to create a painting from a picture which has now been framed.
I also attended various talks and had some lovely lunches too!
Yesterday was my last session and I provided the following feedback to the nurses/staff:
I would like to thank all the nurses and staff of the Wednesday meeting I attend. It has given me more confidence and happiness meeting you all and the other patients that attend. I look forward to going each Wednesday and I believe it has helped me digest my illness and look forward to my life. I enjoyed our talks in the morning which gave me confidence to speak to other people and enjoyed the painting in the afternoon. I do believe that the past 16 weeks has saved me from turning into a recluse and not going on with life.
With all my heart, thank you all.
I have been invited back on a Thursday which is more of a drop in session and I am looking forward to that where I can talk to people in similar circumstances to myself.
"It has given me more confidence and happiness"
